  • I’m looking for the next evolution of genre.
  • I’m looking for JUNO meets SUPERBAD even though I passed on both scripts.
  • We’re looking for a talent attachment. Someone like Rob Riggle, but not Rob Riggle.
  • It’s not high concept enough. But with talent attached it would be high concept enough.
  • He’s dressed too nicely to be a writer.
  • We’re totally committed to making a serialized show. But we need you to just add some more procedural elements.
  • Keep the comedy grounded but ratchet it up.
  • We love that it has been dumbed down and made more accessible.
  • Hamlet 2? Did you see the first one?
  • This sitcom is too SEINFELD.

In picking the top 10 shows is kinda hard, especially these past few years as most TV shows are crap. You just don’t get the quality of yesteryear. In picking a top 10 it is hard … so many from years gone by, however, if I was to pick say from the 80’s on … couldn’t pick 10. Since 1980 I can only pick these shows that have any standard … in no particular order … Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier, King of the Hill and The King of Queens (that is prob my fav) and that is about it.

This is mt synopsis, and I would love it if you read my script. Is there anyway that could happen? I’ve checked out your site but see no way to contact. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Todd
Dear Director of Development:

I wish to submit my feature length screenplay, “The Observer,” for your consideration.
“The Observer” is a modern day film noir set in various locations across the east, and west coast of the United States. The cast is small but developed, and the locations are graphic yet limited. With limited stunts, and no major special effects, “The Observer” could be made on a limited budget.

It’s the story about Ken Leland, a billionaire who has a passion for people watching. He carefully picks his subjects of interest by scanning headlines, looking for well educated people, who for whatever reason, have been led to the depths of despair. They are usually incarcerated and awaiting trial. With the help of his right hand man, David Weller, they bail these subjects out of jail, and relocate them with new identities for the sole purpose of observing what they do with their second chance.

They decide to free Dawn Miller, a young single mother who is a heroin addict, and has been arrested for prostitution, and armed robbery. They also free Allan Smith, a young dean’s list medical student on the verge of graduating who has been arrested for child molestation. Another subject freed by the duo is Terry Johnson a man who studies Catholicism who has been arrested for armed robbery, and gay bashing. These are just three subjects of interest.

In order for Ken and David to successfully relocate these people they call for assistance from past subjects of interest. One is John, an anesthesiologist who puts Dawn under for a period of six weeks in order to free her from heroin without her having to experience the withdrawal effect which could easily kill her. Another is Jim who got caught practicing necrophilia, who works the graveyard shift at a morgue. In order to fake their deaths, Jim provides Ken and David with two dead bodies matching Dawn, and her daughter’s description. Yet another past subject is Tim, a dentist that makes modifications to the dead bodies so the dental records will match Dawn, and her daughter.

Allan Smith, the young medical student is successfully relocated. We become fairly alarmed when we learn he is still on track to become a doctor, and his new field is pediatrics. Ken does this in such a way that we believe this could in fact happen in real life. Ken shifts his attention to a top prize subject of interest, a serial killer on the loose in Los Angeles. Ken hires a highly covert military team once under the direction of his right hand man David Weller. The team launches a huge operation to capture the killer alive without the police or any other authorities being made aware. There is a very climatic ending that reunites most of the characters when Kens right hand man David Weller receives life threatening injuries.

You can contact me via phone or email (Home -315-483-4869, cell- 315-573-8586 or email ToddHeinrich@peoplepc.com) if you would like to read “The observer” Thank you for your time and consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely Todd Heinrich

Hey Todd,

Thanks for getting in touch with me.

I wish there were 80 more hours in the day so that I could consider
everyone. However, since one of the priorities of Tom Sawyer Entertainment is for me or my business partner to personally read the scripts of everyone we consider (instead of having outside readers do this), I unfortunately don’t have the time to consider everyone.

Thus, we use a coverage service at DialogueDriven.biz to help us sort through submissions. If coverage comes back positive, the readers will pass the script on to us.

Best,
